As I put up Christmas decorations in my new home, I’m reminded of the reality that everything needs a place. Not that I’m not still super-annoyed by the old “A place for everything” saying. This week, I’m sharing how I’m looking at dealing with holiday decorations as I face the reality that some of them don’t have a spot here.

Dana – past experience – if you decide to go with greenery on your staircase, be warned to go with a soft greenery. My MIL did this for years and it scratched her bannister. When we moved to our new home in 2009, she gave me all of it with the same warning. I use the harder scratchy greenery outside on my front porch and I bought new that is really soft for inside the house. Hope you enjoy decorating your new home.

Great ideas for modifying techniques for dealing with the “temporary-iness” of Christmas decor! Thanks for sharing, DKW. Have a very merry and blessed Christmas in your new home! Much love from Houston.

Love your show. Fun fact I just learned this year, people with mobility issues really suffer when companies wrap stuff around handrails. They rely heavily on handrails when going up and downstairs. So even though my house is not a public place, this is the last year I’ll be wrapping the handrail with greenery 😬🤦🏽‍♀️
