I’m answering the question: “What’s the next step? When you get the win on decluttering and life is so much easier what do you do next?”

Whether you’re there or not, I think this will help. It’s really all about remembering or redefining your goal for why you wanted a decluttered home.

I read (and thoroughly enjoyed) your book last week, but wasn’t 100% convinced I actually needed it. Fast forward to today…I was going through a large box of old family photos and came across a smaller box inside the big box (my organization skills are stellar!). I knew that I knew that I knew what was inside that little box-my son’s senior pictures. A little voice (your voice…well, the way I imagine your voice since I haven’t actually heard your voice) said “open the box, always look”…so I did. And guess what?! I was right, but so was the voice! My son’s senior pictures were in the little box, but so were order forms (why would I need more high school senior pictures when the kid’s about to graduate from grad school? Answer: I don’t and I won’t…ever!) and random pieces of paper and receipts from that year. So I took the photos out and threw the rest away-including there little box. And it felt good to throw stuff away! So as I continued going through the big box I asked the two questions over and over and over and they worked! Thank you for your book. Thank you for repeating the two questions so many times that I can’t forget them. They really do work.
