I’d been pretending this didn’t exist.
Blergh.
We had an intensely rainy May, and a leak in our enclosed porch meant this room was icky and damp for that entire month. The walls had mold on them.
Blech.
But then summer happened, and with the intense Texas heat no one spends any time in that room (it isn’t air conditioned), so I successfully ignored it. So when Concrobium asked me to so a sponsored post using their Concrobium Mold Control product, I decided that was great motivation to tackle what had been bugging me but was also overwhelming me.
I mean, mold. Ick. Triple ick.
I figured I should give it a try.
The first step is to eliminate the mold. Down at the roots. All this involves is spraying the Concrobium Mold Control on the area with mold, and letting it dry.
That’s it.
After it has dried completely, the mold spores have been crushed at the roots.
But visibly, there’s no difference. Like, they’re crushed from the drying of the spray, but you can’t see any difference. That was exactly what the information said would happen, but it made me wonder if my house was going to look better when I was done. I mean, crushing mold spores is great and all, but I want it to be pretty.
I tried to wipe it off with a dry cloth after it dried. That didn’t work, and I got nervous.
But then I watched this video and saw what I was doing wrong. Once it was dry, I needed to wipe it off with a rag onto which I’d sprayed more Concrobium.
For some reason, I didn’t grasp that until I saw the instructional video. Once I sprayed the cloth, I was surprised at how easy it was to clean. Their video said you can use a brush if needed, but I was able to get it clean with minimal wiping. You can see exactly how much in the video I made showing the process.
And the difference was exciting. Hubby was impressed, too. It makes me happy to look out there and see my actual paint color on those walls!
I was grateful my walls cleaned up so easily. It is possible for mold to stain surfaces. Concrobium makes another product to use for that, the Mold Stain Eraser. It mixes with water and requires a sprayer. I liked only needing the ready-to-use Mold Control spray.
Other facts about Concrobium :
- Does not contain bleach, ammonia, alcohol or harmful chemicals
- Physically crushes mold spores, and treated surfaces retain a protective barrier that prevents the growth of mold and mildew.
- Effective against mold and mildew organisms on both hard surfaces AND fabric surfaces.
Would I purchase this product to deal with mold in my home? Yes. I would. But I’m excited to have more to use on the rest of the affected areas of my enclosed porch.

I loved getting to see how easy it really is! Concrobium (bad name!) was smart to ask you. I’d never even have considered their product otherwise.
I’ll have to tell my mom about this product. She lives in Round Rock and is constantly dealing with mold problems on her shaded porch.
Can you use this in the bathroom?
Yay! I really need this for my basement, my mother moved in with us when my son was born (6 years ago) and the mold in my basement is not terrible, but this would work wonders for my home, thank you for the giveaway!

I am in DEPERATE need of this in my bathroom.
Have always had trouble keeping mold down. 10 years ago I convinced Hubby to have a ceiling fan put in. It didn’t work – mainly because husband and/or son
1) take long, HOT showers in our tiny bathroom
2) most of the time they do not remember to turn the fan on
3) when they do turn it on, they forget to shut the bathroom door so it cannot work well
I have read and re-read and re-re-read this blog. The first time, I bookmarked it. I clicked to Concrobium’s site and read all their links.
I even googled Concrobium for more info and where to buy in my town.

I am so excited that you are sharing this product! I didn’t know it existed. I have spent so much time trying to tackle the mold behind my wash machine with bleach. I can’t wait to try Concrobium!!!

Since our home is about 34 years old, it seems like problems are appearing in many places. In our master bathroom, we discovered that the ceiling fan had never been installed properly. As a result we have had a problem with mold. I have been doing a lot of reading of the effects mold can have on health, and since this is in the bathroom attached to our bedroom, I have been very concerned about the effects this is having on us. I am excited to learn about Concrobian Mold Control. I am hoping that I will win the give away posted on the website A Slob Comes Clean; thank you for offering this. Even if I don’t win the giveaway, I most likely will purchase the product to try it myself.
I’m just now seeing this because I stopped reading your page for a while. It’s not you; it’s me. 😉 I was caring for my mom on hospice, then dealing with her death and cleaning out her house. Now I’m back to dealing with my own life and mess, plus the probably 25 boxes of stuff I have yet to sort from my mom’s house. Ack!
Anyway, thank you! Our bathroom doesn’t have a fan in it, so we constantly fight mold in there. Year round, we keep a box fan in the hallway just outside the door for when people take showers. We set it in the doorway for a couple of hours afterwards to dry it as much as possible. But we still have mold in places. I will show this to my husband, and we’ll give it a try. Thanks again!
