The Daily Checklist as a Mood Enhancer?

I’m feeling rather bleh today.

It’s been that way all day.

Like . . . I noticed fifteen minutes into my thirty minute drive to Bible study this morning that I wasn’t wearing any makeup.

Now, I may have no problem stopping by the store foundation-free and with a touch of bedhair.

But I do not, ever, go to a real it’s-not-okay-to-wear-workout-clothes kind of place without makeup.

The bleh lasted throughout the day.  One way to translate bleh is: aimless.  Yes, I went through the motions of the million commitments I have on Wednesdays, but transition times were . . . aimless.

And bleh.

So, partly to combat the aimless feeling, and partly out of obligation due to my Daily in December commitment, I physically picked up my Daily Checklist and started doing it.

I closed cabinet doors, emptied the dishwasher, cleaned and swept the kitchen, did a five-minute pickup, checked bathrooms for clutter, etc.

That list does a lot of things, and providing aim is one of them.

My hope was that while solving the aimlessness issue, my case of blehs would also be cured.

Not so much.

But at least my house looks better.

Newsflash!  Melissa & Doug toys are on sale for 50% off over on Amazon, making most of the ones I saw ten dollars or less!  Such cute, high-quality stuff!

If you’re looking for gifts for your football-loving-boys, here’s Madden 12 Wii football game, which is the latest version.  My 9yo got last year’s version last Christmas and absolutely loves it.  It’s a rare game that is still being played a year later! (Yep, those are my Amazon affiliate links!)

I have to let you know that because of you I’ve started a daily routine around my house as well. Some days are better than others but you have given me the kick in the butt that I’ve needed for quite some time now. And I have to admit that it feels good. Never thought I’d hear myself say that. 🙂 Thanks so much!

Noni, I want to let you know, the Melissa and Doug link doesn’t work.

Hmmmm….I’ve been tinkering with a “Daily in January” plan (doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it?) but I should really just start now. For real.
