A Little Progress Here and There

I’ve really been struggling with prioritizing lately.  I’m feeling over committed, but it’s all good stuff and there isn’t anything that is an obvious choice to cut out.

As long as I can stick to my basic daily checklists and weekly tasks, I’m surviving, but it’s just a fact of life that I’ll never get everything done that I want to do.

For today, I did a few small “projects” as I was able.

I hung some pictures that I framed last week.  I’d been stressing over finding the “perfect” place for them, but finally decided to go with my “best available” spot.  While the light switch and thermostat don’t exactly add to the artistic statement, I’ve smiled every time I’ve walked through that little hallway today, so I consider it a success.

Then, when my daughter requested that I come outside with her, I decided to work on more backyard details.

(It doesn’t look like I did much other than arrange the table and chairs.)

I removed the junk from the table . . . and I swept.

I swept the dirt off of the rocks.

I have such a hard time being motivated to sweep outside.  Since, y’know, outside and dirt seem to go so naturally together.

And while the fact that you can barely tell a difference in the picture proves that the real-life difference was subtle, at best . . . I’m glad I did it.

You know, I think that's just life as a woman. You'll never be able to get it all done, but as long as you rotate through tasks, you'll always be doing okay everywhere and doing awesome in one thing at a time.

Huge success today – got the hubby to give up 3 high school band t-shirts that don't even fit him. He graduated 12 years ago. I've shown him those shirts SO many times and he's always refused before now.

Cherish, you're right. Perfection is not attainable, but I can't let that stop me from even trying.

Love the shirt-toss-success! My hubby has some I've put in the trash on several occasions and he's pulled them out. They literally have more holes than shirt! But I'm not one to talk when it comes to being willing to part with stuff . . .

I can see a difference! But I'm like you…if I'm gonna take the time to sweep, I'd rather do it inside where the dirt is not supposed to be. 🙂 And I like the photo montage. I am all about grouping pictures together. I think it looks so interesting. Keep up the good work girl!
